UK angler Ian Pickering (Ocean Kayak UK Fishing Team). has once again found a solution for mounting his RAILBLAZA gear to the Ocean Kayak Prowler without the need to drill holes. As you will see in the below images Ian managed to get around the problem of not enough flat area behind the paddler on the Prowler 4.3 & 4.5 Ultra models. Mounting his TracPort dash 350 in this way means he has a work station behind for all his RAILBLAZA accessories. For those that don’t mind drilling into the kayak this option could also be achieved using SidePort mounts fitted using the self tapper screws provided in the pack. (for those that want an even more secure and water tight fit we would recommend using rubber well nuts as the hardware (not supplied) )
Ian Pickering begins :
Trying to mount a Railblaza Starport behind the seat on my Ocean Kayak Prowler Ultra 4.7 had me scratching my head. There are no real flat surfaces and access to the inside the hull is all but impossible. I have a RAILBLAZA Visibility Kit and CameraBoom 600 I would like to mount behind me. With yet more chopping board and the use of a TracPort Dash 350 these images show how I did it without the need to drill any holes (the saddle is fitted using molded brass inserts)…
I would’ve used a whole length of board had I been able to find one long enough!
