HOBIE FISHFINDER RAILBLAZA (800x600)

Su Bui and from Brisbane shared this solution he has developed for is Hobie kayak using RAILBLAZA

I have multiple kayaks and didn’t want to spend large amounts of money rigging them with their own sounders so I searched the internet for portable units. I did find a few well made ones however they were all positioned in the middle and the transducer plus mounting had to run across ones leg to get to the side of the yak. I couldn’t do that because one of my kayaks is a Hobie with the mirage drive so I decided to make my own.

I chose Railblaza gear because the other brands were a little too bulky for my liking. plus Railblaza gear looks well made and at an affordable price. Parts were sourced from local shops except for the battery. I haven’t been able to find a local distributor for these batteries that I’ve been using for the last three years so went to ebay for that. after getting all the parts together it was just a matter of drilling a couple holes and screwing everything together.
